GLOBAL HEALTH RESEARCH GROUP

Tackling Zoonotic Causes of Acute Febrile Illness

An NIHR-funded initiative improving the diagnosis and management of fever in children in sub-Saharan Africa

Reducing the number of childhood deaths due to zoonotic infections

In the short-term, our Global Health Research Group will enhance in-country capacity to diagnose and manage zoonotic infections and contribute new tests for these diseases. Over the medium to long term, improved detection and reporting of zoonotic infections will improve treatment of fever, reducing childhood deaths and the misuse of antimalarial and antibiotic treatments.
